| George W. Horlor |
| (English, fl 1849 1891 ) |
Noted for his landscapes, in which animals predominate, as well as portraits of animals and sporting scenes, Horlor's best work was done in a soft, detailed style. This was ideally suited to depicting the expressions of various animals, and especially those of dogs.
He worked at Cheltenham, Birmingham and Brentford, and exhibited a total of nineteen works at the Royal Academy.
